Did you know?
Every year, 80 billion new pieces of clothing are consumed globally- that’s 400% more than just two decades ago! If we extended the lifespan of our clothes by just 9 months, we could save £5 billion in resources used for production, washing, and disposal.
And with the cost of living crisis making everything crazy expensive (I mean what!?), I want you to get real value for your money and limit the need for constant replacements.
That’s why at dear beany, I really, REALLY wanted to make sure your trousers are built to last.
How?
I’ve aimed to source and test high-quality fabrics and trims to ensure they stand the test of time. Every material is put through rigorous durability testing to check:
Dimensional stability – so your trousers keep their shape, even after multiple washes.
Shrink resistance – because nothing’s worse than clothes that fit perfectly… until they don’t.
Crease retention – so you can look put-together without constant ironing.
Taking care of your trousers
Even the best-made clothes last longer with the right care, which is why we provide detailed aftercare instructions below.
From the best washing temperatures to the ideal drying methods, these small steps can make a huge difference in keeping your trousers looking fresh for years. Plus, taking care of your clothes properly reduces water and energy waste, making it a win-win for both you and the planet.
Fit that lasts
A great fit isn’t just about comfort-it also makes your clothes last longer. That’s why I put so much focus on our customisable waistband and adjustable length. I wanted the stretch to feel just right and the pleating to work at any size, so your beany bottoms will stay relevant even as trends come and go.
Hands-on sustainability
One of the best things about being a small, independent brand is that I can be directly involved in every step - from fabric sourcing to manufacturing. I don’t just approve from a distance- I regularly meet manufacturers to oversee production firsthand, making sure every pair of beany bottoms meets our high standards.
Beany Joggers Aftercare Guide
Your beany joggers are made from a soft, durable cotton-polyester blend, perfect for everyday wear. To keep them looking their best, here’s how to care for them:
🧼 Washing
Wash cold (30°C max) – A gentle cold wash keeps the fabric vibrant and prevents shrinking.
Turn inside out – This protects the outer surface and helps prevent fading and pilling.
Use mild detergent – No need for harsh chemicals- gentle soap does the job just fine.
Wash with similar colours – Especially for the grey joggers- no red socks!! (iykyk)
🌀 Drying
Air dry flat or hang up – It’s best to skip the tumble dryer to keep the shape and softness just right.
Avoid direct sunlight – Dry in the shade or indoors to prevent colour fading.
🧺 Ironing & Storage
Low heat iron if needed – But honestly, they rarely wrinkle.
Fold or hang – Both work well. Just avoid cramming them in tight spaces to prevent creasing.
✨ Beany Tip: Wash Less, Wear More
The cotton-poly mix is breathable and stays fresh longer- so don’t over-wash. Spot clean when needed, air them out after wearing, and save the full wash for when it’s truly time.
Taking care of your joggers means they’ll stay soft, keep their shape, and be ready for everything. Wear them well, wash them wisely, and they’ll be with you for the long run.
