dear beany,

I’m gabby (beany), a sunshine lover (my Maltese blood might have something to do with it…) with a lifelong love for clothes. Travelling and living abroad opened my eyes to the beauty of different cultures, how people dress, and the huge impact of overconsumption in fashion. Living in Kenya for three years had a particularly powerful influence, seeing people with so little show such generosity changed the way I think about having enough. Wandering through markets overflowing with discarded fast fashion made me want to do things differently. I knew I wanted to create something joyful, practical, and mindful.

That’s how dear beany was born. A slow fashion brand inspired by ease, colour, and the feeling of summer. The name comes from letters and cards Mum wrote to me growing up, always starting with dear beany. It’s a nod to care, connection, and the little joys in life- values I hope dear beany carries in every piece. It’s also a reminder of what I learned in Kenya: that simplicity, thoughtfulness, and generosity are far more stylish than excess. These trousers are made to do more with less- versatile, long-lasting, and designed to go wherever life takes you.

Beany Bottoms are born from a very real, very daily struggle of mine: finding work appropriate trousers that aren’t jeans, but still feel relaxed enough for after work drinks. I was tired of endless scrolling on Pinterest and choosing between a suit or a simple tee and black trousers. Plus do we have to shop in the men’s large section for a pair of baggy joggers and have them falling down constantly (or bunched up around the crotch eek). So this all got me thinking, “why are we always the ones adapting to trousers? Shouldn’t it be the other way around?”

I would love Beany Joggers to be your go to in the morning and evening, soft, easy, and the Beany Linens as your trouser in between. Tailored enough for meetings, playful enough for the pub, with an adjustable waistband that gives them that little bit extra.
